“Thou Shalt Pow”
A Solo Art Exhibition by April Terra Livingston
April 19th -23rd
The Sella-Granata Gallery in Woods Hall
Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
205-310-1783
April Terra Livingston invites you to an exhibition of the very back corners of her mind. For her MA thesis, she has constructed a series of characters that she hopes will convey sensations of confused interest in her viewer. These characters should arouse feelings of alarm, curiosity and perhaps even humor. They mean to reveal the constructed nature of the rational and to provoke questions about the curiosity of being. When asked to describe the work, she says, “Each character feels like a piece of my self. As strange as it may sound, they all feel like self portraits.” Constructed of mixed media and found objects, the characters reflect the human form but show strong influence of the grotesque. A reception will be held April 22nd from 7pm to 9pm in the Sella-Granata Gallery at Woods Hall on the University of Alabama campus.
