Fashion on Canvas Fashion Show to combine fashion, art and mixed media into gallery styled production.
RealLifeFashion.com will host the Fashion on Canvas Fashion Show, Sunday September 20, 2009 at the Highland Conference Center. This unique fashion show will feature high fashion, body art and mixed media to create a gallery style exhibit that pays tribute to a variety of art forms.
“We are excited to be a part of this unique fashion production which focuses on the fact that fashion is an art form. We believe that the combination of fashion, body art and mixed media will offer a one-of-a-kind experience to Birmingham’s fashion community” says Urbanham.com founder Russ McClinton.
Fashion on Canvas will take place Sunday, September 20, 2009 with two shows. A 3:00 pm show and a 7:00 pm show with catered pre-receptions at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. An”A” list of designers will headline the show such as J Bolin, House of De Vinci, Viola B, House of Gates and Adriel Ragsdale. A series of model calls held during the month of August brought a selection of new models ready to showcase the talent of these designers and artist on the runway. Body art and wearable art will be provided by the Birmingham Art Collective. The night will continue with an “art-inspired” after party coordinated and hosted by Birmingham’s South Models, Urbanham.com and Paint-N-Party below the Highland Conference Center.
Early supporters of Fashion on Canvas include Paint-N-Party, Golden Corral, The Highland Conference Center, Code Red, Capelli Salon, South Models, The Birmingham Art Collective and Upgrade Magazine.
